Lisa J. Silverman graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with honors in American Studies from Brandeis University in 1999 and received her Juris Doctor from Hofstra University School of Law in 2002. Ms. Silverman was admitted to practice law in the State of New York in February, 2002 and she was admitted to practice law in the United States District Court for the Eastern District and Southern District in 2003.
While a student at Hofstra University Law School, Ms. Silverman served as an intern for the Unites States Attorney’s Office in the Appellate Department in Washington, D.C. After graduating, she immediately began working for a prominent and well-respected law firm in various areas of law including corporate litigation, tax certiorari, appellate litigation, and all phases of matrimonial and family law. In 2004, Ms. Silverman focused her practice area exclusively in the field of matrimonial and family law and has continued in the practice of matrimonial and family law since that time.
Ms. Silverman became associated with DiMascio & Associates, LLP in 2010 where she has handled cases involving complex equitable distribution, child custody, parental alienation and support issues, and has appellate advocacy experience involving issues of custody, business valuations, maintenance, discovery related matters and the award of legal fees.
She is currently a member of the Nassau County Bar Association as well as a member of the Matrimonial Law Committee, a committee within the Nassau County Bar Association. Ms. Silverman has contributed to the preparation of Continuing Legal Education materials associated with Mr. DiMascio’s role as co-editor of the Matrimonial Law Committee.
Ms. Silverman was born and raised in Dix Hills, New York where she presently resides with her husband and three sons.
